the challenge
The interior of three floors of the shopping mall needed to be renovated, which included the ceilings, 30% of the floors, lighting, restrooms, the administration office and VIP parking. One of the main issues was the lack of sitting areas for visitors in the shopping mall, without being forced to go to a restaurant or to go home. The only area to take a seat was in the food court.
the solution
We created comfortable sitting areas at the most important places where people assemble, around stairs and escalators and improved the food court. New lightings and ceilings give the interior a pleasant atmosphere. In the back of the shopping mall we transformed an abandoned hall into an area with fundamental services, like new restrooms, a smoking area and small shops, to attract visitors to this part.
creating lounges and comfortable sitting areas was one of the most important changes. when feeling tired visitors can take a short break to continue their shopping.
the renewed stairs lead to the administration offices. the new design and use of wooden panels in the back, give the area an intimate character and refers to the ‘cult’ status of the shopping mall.
the abandoned area is transformed into an area with fundamental services. there visitors can also find new male + female restrooms, a baby care room and a family restroom which is a new service.
